Alright so lets start off with the coolest part. There was an Terremoto in Mexico City. It started in Ch'opo and it was a level 8. Ch'opo is 137 KM away from Mexico City, so we had an earthquake too. It was a level 6.2 and it was so cool. It was like midnight. I have been waking up a lot because of my coughing a lot and like everything was like shaking around me. I thought I was hallucinating. Then we have these alarms going off to warn us when the terremotos happen. But I thought it was my alarm clock. We are suppose to go outside and stand in these green safety circles outside on the roads. Entonces, when I realized it wasnt my alarm I was getting ready to wake up all my roommates to go outside and the shaking stopped and the alarm turned off. So then I really thought I was hallucinating so I just went back to bed. Later that day we found out it really was an earthquake. It really truly shows how blessed the CCM is and how God watched out for His missionaries because no harm came to the walls of the CCM and throughout all the other destruction that hit Mexico not s isngle missionary was even harmed during all of this. The rest of the week was kinda boring. I found out that Hermana Saucedo, one of my Maestras here, also taught Hermana Walker! That is so cool. We do this thing called TRC, teaching resource center, where we teach either real investigators, members, or members pretending to be investigators. Today Hermana Brown and I taught two little niños, who were so cute. One was Lehí who was 13 and his Hermana Isabela who was 11. It was so much fun and they were so sweet. It is kinda getting long here. I love the CCM but I want to get into the field. Except I definitely need more help with mó Español. It was cool though because there is a group of Latinas that live in our casa and they came into our room and started telling us about what we need to do if there is another terremoto. They didn't speak any Ingles. But I understood, not word for word, but the jest of what they were saying. We thanked them for the help and they left to go talk to the other girls. But a few minutes later a knock came on the door and they asked for me to follow them. So I did and they asked me to translate what they were saying to the other Hermanas in the room because they couldn't really understand them. I don't know why they chose me but they repeated pretty much what they told us and I told the Hermanas in the other room. The Latinas were so grateful and it made me feel a lot better about my Spanish. Also we taught with our Latina companions again and the Latinos here have to pray and sing in Ingles porque you teach in your own language but you sing and pray in the other language but not us porque we are here to learn Spanish. Thank you daddy for the Vitamin C. I am a lot better now. I need to finish the medication I am on and then I should be fine. It is all porque I got a priesthood blessing. I went to the enfermia the day before and the doctor said I was worse but I got the blessing and went the day after and he said my lungs were clear and I should be back to normal in a few days. The priesthood really is the power and authority of God and it brings miracles. We are suppose to be speaking sólomente español in our last 2 weeks at the CCM and it is getting really hard. I mean there is just so much I want to express myself in Ingles and I cant. But I never really realized how difficult Ingles was till I was trying to teach my Latina companion. I had to think of things in Español to try and help her understand and Ingles es muy deficil. I only have 2 weeks left here in the CCM and it is getting really real. I kinda don't feel like a real missionary. I mean I am and we all are real missionaries but it is like my experience here is just a dream and when I get to Paraguay I am going to wake up and be thrown into a whirlwind of trying to be fully fluent in Español and trying to learn Guatani. There has been some drama in our branch with the sisters that we as sister training leaders have had to deal with. The problem is they leave on Sunday for their missions but all the stress of trying to pack and get ready to leave has made them want to snap. But the problem is it has been happening in our district too. The elders are getting lazy. They just want to leave. They feel like they are good in spanish. And it is getting hard because they just want to slack off but we cant. These last two weeks are crucial. We need to make the last two weeks our best two weeks. We need to be able to go above and beyond in our service for the Lord. This Elder gave me one of his ties because I really liked it and so I had all the elders and our Maestros sign it so we have an 11c district tie. It felt like yearbook signing because I like walked up and was like hey will you sign my tie jaja. And one of the sisters gave me a nice blazer. It is warm and I didnt bring a coat and Mexico is cold in the morning because it rains so much.
Everyday here we study El Libro de Mormon. I love the Book of Mormon and I am so grateful the chance to read it and study it and prepare to teach it on my mission. I had the chance to finish it again while I've been here and can I just say how amazing the feelings you get from ready the Book of Mormon. It is the word of God, another testament of Christ, the keystone to this church. If you are every lost or confused, if you are ever looking for an answer an answer pray to our Heavenly Father, read the Book of Mormon, and you will find your answer. I encourage all to read the Book of Mormon, reread the Book of Mormon. It will help you in all aspects of your life.
I love everyone so much. Thank you for the support.
PS: Today is our first like P day we have just free time so I will take more pictures and send them in a separate email because I don't have very much right now.
