8/20/18-One more day, One less Year

++ no pics would upload this week

SHOUT OUT TO MY MOM FOR BEING THE BEST MOM IN THE WHOLE WORLD. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! 29 NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD. I LOVE YOU!!!

Man this week was great, what even happened?

Well first it was my birthday. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wished. It was a good day. To be honest we didn't do anything. I didn't tell anyone it was my birthday. I just wanted to work and not make a big deal out of it. But somehow Hermana Gomez told a family here and they invited us over to have a family home evening. So we went and we planned this awesome lesson. We played bean boozle. If you don't know what bean boozled is, its a game with good tasting jelly beans and really awful tasting jelly beans but they look the same so you don't know which one is which. They have flavors like peach or vomit. Pear or booger. Tootie frootie or smelling gym sock. So we played that and we compared it to how sometimes Satan makes sins look appealing. But really they are awful and leave a bad taste in your mouth and we need to stay as far away from them as possible. Also how some sins don't seem as bad as others for example the flavor vomit compared to toothpaste. And how sometimes we get lucky and continue to get pear and peach and berry but if we keep tempting our luck we will end up with vomit. It was a super great lesson. It was very spiritual and fun at the same time. Familia Recalde alse made dinner and bought me a cake. It was really sweet of them.

On Tuesday I went to Caaguazu. It was great. We were able to work really hard. We also had our consejo de distrito so we got to learn about the importance of teaching repentance. The other Hermana's in our district also found out it was my birthday and made a cake for our treat afterwards. It was super nice of them. The elders were really grateful I had my birthday jaja. But it was funny because everyone I talked to thought I was turning 22. EVERYONE. So I don't know jaja it was funny to tell people I was only 19... well 20 now... what a sad moment jaja.

Wednesday was my 1 year mark in the mission. We also didn't do anything jaja. Well that's a lie we got to work. We found new people who are super nice and I have a good feeling they are really gonna start progressing. She shared with missionaries when she was a little girl. It was super great. Thursday we spent the day in this one part of our area that is super super far. Its called Barrio Costa San Antonio. It is like 1 hour to walk there, maybe a little bit more and we decided to go out and visit some of them members that live there and find new people. It was really great. It started to get dark so we decided to leave and maybe work a little closer to the house. But as we were leaving there was this path in the woods. I felt like we needed to go down the path. My companion however did not feel like that was a good idea. But with a little persuasion we went down the path and found a house. We clapped and a lady came out. We started talking to her and her mom is really sick. So she let us enter to say a prayer for her and her mom. We taught about the Restoration and it was really great. We set up a day to go back. As I left the lesson I felt really good. The spirit had guided us to this house. They are very nice.

Man Friday was super great. So we had intercambios again and I went to Piribebuy. The Hermana's in Piribebuy are having some problems in their companionship and don't really have the desire to work. So when I got there I was determined to work so hard and follow the spirit that by the end of the day the Hermana would think I was trying to kill her jaja. And it worked. We found 14 nuevos and we were able to serve and offer prayers to 6 more new people. We taught members and recieved referencias. It was a really really great day. By the end the Hermana I was with, her whole body hurt super bad, mine too jaja. It was a great day. But at the end we had 10 more minutes until we had to be in the house. I want to find one more person. But a dog ran up and bit Hermana Suqui. Poor thing. So we ended up going home to fiz her up. Luckily it didnt break the skin but it was pretty purple. But igual it was a great day. Saturday I got back to Oviedo. We were then able to work in our area. We found this huge family with 10 people who all were listening to us and the grandma started going on this huge rant and one by one all the kids started leaving. So that was kinda sad. But we have another appointment with them and we are gonna try to take control of the lesson and teach a short but powerful lesson with the spirit.

We had plans to teach Ariel because we haven't been able to see him since Sunday but he cancelled on us again. I think something happened with his mom because she doesn't like the church and so we are really praying for him. But on Sunday we pasted for hs house to see how he is and he was reading his Book of Mormon when we passed. He said everything was fine he was just really tired that morning and so he didn't come to church. He told us he knows it isn't an excuse and he should have gone. he promised he would go next week. He is super great. I think something did happen and he just doesn't want to tell us. But he is super awesome. On Sunday we also found a girl named Clara. She is 20 and she was standing outside washing her clothes. When I looked at her we made eye contact and I knew that we had to talk to her. So we walked over. She let us in right away. We taught about the Restauracion and at the end of the lesson we asked her why she let us in. She said that she was just praying for someone to come and help her feel peace and help her grow closer to God. She said that she knew God had sent us to her. She is super cool.

Sunday night though was interesting. So we were walking home and we saw a group pf dogs. Not like one or two. There was 15 or so. Hermana Gomez is super super scared of dogs so she wanted to take another route. But all of a sudden this motorcycles passed with two guys on it. The dogs when crazy because the guys were throwing beer on them. They started chasing the moto. They were coming right to us. Now Hermana Gomez started freaking out because the dogs where coming so she was holding on to my arm. I was on the road. In front of me was the dog. I had 3 options. Get run over my the moto. Run into my companion and push her into a ditch with the dogs. Or stay where I was and get hit by the dogs who were coming and get beer poured on me. Needless to say I stood my ground. But I did not do a good job because there was one dog that just knocked the legs right out from under me and I flew. Landing super hard and getting liquid poured on me. It was super funny though. I laid on the ground for a good few seconds reevaluating my life jaja. It was super funny. I got up and we decided to try and visit one more person. We went to her house and she has a huge dog who is still a puppy but he is like bigger than me. When we got there he ran up from behind and tackled me and whipped me with his tail. It instantly left a mark jaja. It was an interesting like 20 minutes. Goodness jaja. I wished I had it recorded because it was super funny.

Anyways I know this church is true. I know God is watching out for us and that he hears our prayers. I know Jose Smith was a profeta and that Russell M Nelson es nuestro profeta today. I am so grateful to have this chance to serve in Paraguay and get tacked by dogs jaja. It truly is the best. I love you all!!!
