Sup fam!
Okay so this week flew by in the blink of an eye. It is so crazy. On Monday it was probably thhe first time I chilled in a whole cambio and it was Hermana Gomez 16 months in the mission. I cooked her lunch and then I made brownies and we put candles in it for her Sweet 16. It was a lot of fun and the brownies were super good. I heated it up and put it in milk and it tasted like lava cake. Highly recommend it.
On Tuesday we had intercambios with Caaguazu and there is a brand new Hermana there from Chile. Her name is Hermana Calisto and she is super cute. During the day I tried to help her with all the little things we do as missionaries. Well everyday we have to talk to as many people as we can and contact them. Get to know them, invited them to listen, testify, things like that. At first she would give the tarjeta out and just walk away but I told her we want to be friends with all the people we talk to and testify about the church. I did a few examples and she was really excited to try. We found a lady and Hermana Calisto did really great. She was testifying about the church but then went off into super like deep doctrine about temples and what we do in them and things like that. It was pretty funny because the lady looked at us as if we were crazy. Poco a poco. We only had an hour and a half to work on Tuesday but we taught 3 people and talked to everyone! It was a good day.
On Wednesday we worked really hard as well. It was Joaquinas birthday and so we took her some brownies and one of the little kids with her named Ramon he has 6 years, he was like what is this and she was like eat it. So he did and after she looked and him and was like its dog poop. Ive never seen a little boy so worried but we all started laughing and explained what it was.
On Thursday we went to visit Ariel but he was at work and wasn't home. On Friday we had intercambios again and I stayed in Oviedo with la Hermana Suqui. She is from Ecuador. It was fun. We got back pretty lare from Piribebuy and so we lost a good chunk of our day but we were able to work hard. Saturday really
Saturday was the highlight of my week. Miracles happened!!
So we were working normal and we had plans to visit Ariel and have a lesson in the church. We hadn't been able to teach him since Sunday and I was a bit worried. In the morning the first thing I did was call a member and ask her to leave with us. She said she would loved to and we made the plans that we were going to pass for her. We worked the rest of the day. Our lessons fell through, we walked our whole area to visit different people and they weren't even in their houses. But none of it mattered because I was super excited to be able to visit with Ariel again. At 19;30 horas we went to go pick up our member. When we got to her house she wasn't there. We called her but she never picks up her phone. So we started calling her friends that she was with earlier in the day. It turns out she went to the hair place to get her hair done and she told us she couldn't leave with us. Now I'm not gonna lie. My first reaction was frustration because we had already called and confirmed with the member and we had plans and she knew we couldn't teach Ariel without a lady and that he was preparing to be baptized. It was 10 minutes before our lesson and no one was out and no one lives close to the church to just knock on their door and ask to help.
I was frustrated when my awesome companion said we should say a prayer. So we offered a prayer and asked for a miracle. We felt that we needed to call a member named Lili. I doubted at first because she lives super super far and it was already 20;00 horas in the night. But we called her and she was willing to go to the church. So we went to the church to wait. We had called Ariel as well to confirm and he said he would be there but when we got to the church he wasn't there either. It was already the time we had set for our lesson. So we waited and waited and waited some more. We tried to call Ariel and he didn't answer. We were worried we had called a member to help and our investigator wasn't going to show up. At about 20;30 Lili showed up. We tried calling Ariel one last time but he didn't answer. But then as we were talking to Lili, Ariel showed up and was really sorry because he was super late but he had just left from work.
It was such a big miracle! We taught our lesson in the church and it was very spiritual. Sometimes it is hard to tell what Ariel is thinking or how he is feeling in the lessons because he is always very serious, but he said he was excited because he got to learn something new and he feels good with his goal to be baptized on the 11. He is a miracles. After our lesson he left and we had bought cookies for Lili. She told us when we called her she had just got out of the shower and was getting dressed. If we would have called her any sooner or later she wouldn't have been able to come. It is so amazing how God works. But the thing that we need to do is have faith. Because the whole day I was lacking in faith. I doubted to call Lili, I doubted when we were sitting and waiting for Lili and Ariel, and I doubted when no one would pick up their phone. But God knows everything. He will always help us and he will never leave us alone. But it is our job to trust in him and be willing to do HIS will. Because just like it says in Moroni 7:33;
Jesucristo will help us in all aspects of our lives. In work, school, and play but only when it is convenient with His work and His glory. I know that we are here with a purpose and God helps us to fulfill our greatest potential.
Faith is the key! I love you all. I think this church is true. I hope everyone has a super great week!!!
