2nd full week's General email

Hey guys!
Lets see since the last preparation day and the last time I talked to you guys. The rest of preparation day was really good. We played a lot of volleyball. I love volleyball.
I will try not to make this letter so long, but to be fair last week I had 10 days to write for not just 7. I see Hermana Galli all the time. It is nice to see a familiar face that just reminds me of home, in a good way. Teaching has been got a lot easier. Spanish is still difficult but to be honest it is getting easier, I just cant think about it too much or else I complicate things but when I talk it sounds like I am a toddler. But hey its a start. We have been teaching new investigators, still our teachers, but now we are teaching like 2 lessons a day. Next week though we are suppose to start teaching real investigators. It still floods here which is fun, but it gets super cold in the morning, hot in the evening and sunny, and by the night it is flooding again. One of the gym days, I think it was Friday but we were playing Tornado or speed or lightening or knockout or whatever you call it where you shoot the basketball, but Hermana Brown won the whole thing. She even got all the elders out it was so funny and really awesome! Also I was in class and my pen exploded. So that was a pretty crazy event.
Also we got to go to the temple today! The temple in Mexico City is so beautiful. The funny thing is that because of all the flooding in Mexico right now there is a lot of buildings sinking and the buildings are like tilted. I am not sure if I got any pictures of it but it is so weird. Also the temple sunk as well and the picture of the white post is how long is sunk. The temple has this cool Aztec design on the outside. Oh and you know what is frustrating. The Asuncion temple is closed due to renovation and it will probably be closed my whole mission. It makes me so sad because I was really looking forward to going to the temple! But maybe it will open by the end of my mission. Preperation day has been full of meetings and meetings and more meetings. I am surprised I had time to even email everyone. It wouldn't have been bad but going to the temple is a 5 hour trip or more in total. It takes an hour to get there and like 2 hours to come back because of the traffic. Yesterday was an eventful day as well. Because of Hermana Browns love and care for me she made me go to the infirmary for my back and hip. I didn't think I needed to go. My rib and hip popped back out of place again from all the walking and it was bothering me a little bit but she was really concerned. So the doctor, Elder Pugmire, made me go get an x-ray. Entonces, with one of the nurses we ventured outside of the fence of the CCM. We went to this clinic thing that was like flooded and in the back of this like 7/11 and it was super weird. It did show me how much I need to practice my Spanish because the doctors were talking to me Spanish and I could barely talk back to them and only sometimes understand them. I felt like Elder Calhoun from Best Two Years where he says "Elder, what language where they speaking? Well I'm in trouble because that aint the language they taught me in the MTC." It took a bit but we did accomplish the x-rays and went back to the CCM. It was pretty cool but we had to skip our classes. Entonces I felt bad for our maestro Hermano Tello y Hermana Saucedo. Elder Pugmire said that because the CCM didnt have a chiropractor that I would just have to take Motrin and see how I felt after, which I knew was going to happen since all I needed was a chiropractor. But that's okay it was a fun experience. And don't worry mom I am fine. It was just like before my mission so nothing new. Maybe I should be saying don't worry dad because I can imagine mom just telling me to rub some dirt in it or something. But the funniest thing is while we were going to the hospital there was like this bus, the traffic wasn't too bad but the bus had no doors and people were just hanging off. And then he like backed up in the middle of traffic to pick up a guy and kept going. And there was this family on a motorcycle with a little baby in between them just squeezed in the middle. And the nurse that was driving us was like wait that isn't okay in the states. It was pretty funny. Sorry more about the temple. Alright what can I say. It was gorgeous. It had all these Aztec designs and it has one of the 5 Moroni's who is holding the golden plates. Also it is the biggest temple outside of the US. It was dedicated in like 1983. Also there is a visitors center that was super pretty. I am not sure what else to tell you guys. Days seems like weeks here and weeks fly by like days. I am having so much fun. OH WAIT! I DO HAVE SOMETHING MORE TO TELL YOU!!!!! HOW ON EARTH COULD I FORGET! So a few days ago we, Hermana Brown and I , were having our weekly meeting with our Branch President, President Lyons. He said that there was a worker at the CCM that has a Libro De Mormon and wanted to learn more. Presidente Lyons has asked two other sets of elders to talk to him, but they never went and talked to him. So he wanted us to talk to him (because you dont send elders for a job for the sisters ;) haha jk elders are super important. Pero Presidente Lyons asked us to contact him. So we went straight to our class and called him. We talked to him and set up a meeting with him and we are TEACHING HIM TOMORROW MORNING AT 8. We are teaching him the restoration and then telling the missionaries in his area to go visit him again. I am a little worried because I am not very good at Spanish yet and he is not a maestro so he wont understand the gist of what we are saying. But I have been praying and studying and asking to bless me with the gift of tongues and the Spirit to be able to touch Ismael heart. Thank you for the letters and dad for the package. The elders definitely wanted to be my best friend after that. I would love to see pictures of anyone who wants to send them to me. And again I am sorry if I forgot your email on my list. Hey dad please email me the emails that were on Facebook or text messages and all that fun stuff so I can add them to my list and not have to worry about them not getting my email. I love everyone so much! I cannot tell you how amazing the work is here. It is hard but even in the CCM I know that I am changing and am having the chance to change others lives.
Yo amor ustedes todas. Mi famalia es me fuerta.

I love you all so much and thank you for the support.

I Got to Go to the Mexico City Temple!

YAY! new email and photo's from Hermana Davis!  She got to go to the Mexico City Temple today

Hola Familia
Sorry if I type in Spanish and if I type it wrong. The keyboard I am using doesn't type in Spanish which is really strange considering we are in Mexico. Life in the CCM is awesome. CCM stands for Centro de Capacitacion Misional Mexico. It is what MTC is here pretty much. This week I don't have a lot of time so I want to tell you all how much I love you. Also my roommate peed her pants three times now from laughing. It wasn't super important but it was pretty funny needed to tell somebody. The temple was amazing. It was so cool. We had to do everything in Spanish though so it kinda showed me because I was pretty excited to be able to say it perfectly since I worked in the temple and I couldn't because it was all in Spanish. I am getting somewhat better though. At the hospital it was weird because they all spoke Spanish to me and I could hardly understand anything. I wish I had more time to email you all but I have to get off soon. Dad the package was awesome and I get your letters the next day most of the time. It depends on when our DL remembers to get the mail. I love you all.

First P-Day and emails from Hermana Davis 8-24-17

We received our first emails from Hermana Davis today!!! so good to hear her enthusiasm and experiences from her first week at the MTC.  Here are some parts of her emails. and some pic's she sent

The start of my mission experience.
First off, thank you mom for all the stuff that you packed extra that I didn{t know about and that I will not need like that Russian hat thing that I wore when I was like 10. I love seeing all the surprises. It was grand
¡Hola me Familia!
I am really enjoying my time here at the CCM!.......
I love my badge. I never want to take it off. It makes me feel so awesome......

One of our roommates____was struggling with some personal issuse. As she was telling us I just felt how much God truly loves her and so we had a very long discussion about her trying to give her peace. It was so much easier to be able to teach and express myself in English not have to struggle in Spanish. You could feel the spirit so strong, except you could still tell that ______was still uneasy, so I asked if we could say a prayer, and as I was praying, you could instantly feel the room get lighter. You could feel peace and it was one of the best experience, because it just strengthened my testimony as to why I am here.

Also we always play volleyball at the CCM!! It is so fun! I love volleyball and playing with all the Latinos are super funny because they shout and are so loud at everything they do! It is literally amazing!! And the food here is so good! I don{t know half the things I am eating but don{t worry I am eating good!! Still losing weight, but eating good!!! On tuesday we had a devotional!! It was amazing. Presidente Benette gave it! It was about the gift of repentance and man it was amazing. Through Christ we can live a new! It truly is a gift to be able to repent of all our sins and be clean once more, and that we can be perfect like our Savior! I literally cried the whole devotional! The hardest thing I think, besides learning the language, is exact obidience. Because I am working with another person and sometimes 4 when we are trying to go to bed and lights out. Alone it would be so easy to leave on time and to turn off the lights and to personal study but working with someone else is difficult to try and get places and turn off lights, but we are getting a lot better. caxt obediance works. It blesses lives. Also Uncle J.D. was Hermana Brown{s stake president in her BYU YSA ward!! How crazy is that_! Oh and I totally forgot to tell y{all. Me and Hermana Brown are called to be Senior Trainers! We are like the District Leaders of the Hermanas in our branch!! I can{t believe it! I am really excited about it. I think it will help both of us a lot to be able to help the girls around us. Well I think I covered pretty much everything I could have possibly covered. I saw Hermana Galli as well a few times. That was fun!! I love everyone so much!

And she's off !

On August 15th we took Hermana Davis to the airport for her flight to the Mexico Missionary Training Center where she will spend the next 6 weeks learning Spanish and how to be a missionary.  The airport was crazy, we learned later there were 70 missionaries on her flight to the MTC.  It wasn't a very intimate goodbye but she was excited for her adventure to begin, She traveled with  Elder (Adam) Anderson our neighbor who also is at the MTC and then will report to Chile, Conception South
